Accessibility

A website for everyone.

It is important to us that everyone can use our website – regardless of physical, cognitive or technical limitations. We are not legally obliged to do so. But we are a cooperative, and inclusion is part of our core values. That is why we have redesigned and developed milchwerkeschwaben.de in accordance with the WCAG 2.1 guidelines (Level AA).

What this means

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are an internationally recognised standard for accessible web content. Level AA ensures that a website is easily usable by the vast majority of people with disabilities. Specifically, this means, amongst other things:

  1. All content can be accessed and navigated using a keyboard.
  2. Text and backgrounds have sufficient contrast ratios.
  3. Images and graphics have descriptive alternative text.
  4. Forms are clearly labelled and provide understandable feedback.
  5. The website works with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  6. Moving content and animations can be reduced.

How we worked

Accessibility was not an afterthought, but part of our work from the very beginning – in design, editing and technical implementation. We tested the website manually, checked it using screen readers and examined it for known barriers using specialised testing tools.

Despite all our care: accessibility is not a static state, but an ongoing process. With new content and changes, we ensure that we maintain the standard achieved and continue to improve it.

Your feedback

If you encounter any difficulties using the site or come across any barriers, we would be delighted to hear from you via our contact form. Your feedback helps us to make the website better for everyone.
